Love Yourself
The benefits from knowing and growing
“To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness” -Robert Morley
Why is it so hard to love ourselves? We love other people and extend them grace in situations all the time. Why can we not learn to do that for ourselves, or worse, not want to because we think we don’t deserve it?
There are many reasons, and they can differ for each person, but a common one is that we tend to see and hold on to negative experiences and thoughts. We rehearse them in our minds. We build an identity on how dumb we are, how careless we are, how insufficient we are. The stories we tell ourselves are the realities we build for ourselves, and that is why here at Daisyfield Press want to make materials to help you go from tormenting yourself to loving yourself.
If you read the posts on knowing yourself and growing yourself, and maybe even went through the free downloadable guide that we provide, you are primed and ready to learn to love yourself. Hopefully you have already started! We get one beautiful life to live. We don’t want to waste it by focusing on all the bad in our life. We want to embrace it and live it to the fullest, right?
Getting to know yourself is important because it allows you to see that you do have strengths and value to add to the world. It also opens up the opportunity to grow yourself in areas that you deem important. As you grow yourself, you learn that you are stronger than you realized, smarter than you realized, and able to do hard things.
The importance of your thought life cannot be stressed enough. Your emotions follow your thoughts, your identify is built on your thoughts, your reality is framed by your thoughts. As we get to know ourselves and grow ourselves, we must continue improving at talking to ourselves in a way that is loving and empowering. Over time we will start to believe ourselves, and then we have the foundation for a fulfilling and joyful life.
Let’s look at some of the benefits that will come from learning to love yourself and your life:
-Now you know that you can do hard things
-You know you can improve things you don’t love about yourself
-Because you did the work on knowing who you want to be and why, you won’t look for validation and approval from others as much
-With all the growth you have had, and the future growth you are planning on having, you know you are unstoppable if you choose to be
-You are blossoming into someone you are proud of, and that feeling is matchless
-Self-compassion lowers stress
-You have a new confidence in your abilities
-You feel empowered to say NO to things or people that drain you
-You will be more likely to build a circle of positive people around you
Can you imagine a life where haters don’t bother you, scoffers don’t move you, and you walk around with your head held high because you KNOW you are a baddie?!
A life you love is worth the uncomfortable bits of knowing and growing yourself.
We would love it if you wanted to join us for that journey!
